Leaving Adirondack Park

Another summer has come to pass and it is time to close up camp. The linens and blankets are packed away, pantry and refrigerator cleared out in hopes that the mice might not settle here but choose another camp with more comforts to offer these little rodents for survival during a cold long winter. All the outdoor furniture stashed away, swimming raft washed, dried and rolled up and, kayaks and paddles wait in the boat house rafters for another season on the lake. The geraniums and herbs emptied into the compost. Spring bulbs planted, plants trimmed back and a blanket of fall leaves cover the gardens.
Water pipes are drained, windows are locked and furniture is covered with sheets and blankets. Shades are drawn and the doors locked. Goodbye camp, thank you for another wonderful season on our Adirondack lake. Rest and be well; see you in the Spring.
