The days are getting shorter, there is a still clarity in the air, green leaves start fade to yellow and drift to the ground. When I walk along the path there is a sound of crunching leaves signaling summer’s end.   Late September is poignant, bitter and sweet. As summer ends, Fall foliage presents a final blaze of color before the cold and dark er days of winter.

Autumn is the time of the Jewish new year, Rosh Hashanah, literally “head of the year” . This High Holiday / new year 5786 falls on the first and second day of the Hebrew month Tishri. In the Gregorian calendar, 2024 Rosh Hashanah begins the evening of October 2 and lasts until the evening of October 4.

Rosh Hashanah is a time to review and reflect on our lives and to seek forgiveness from those we may have hurt in the past year. It is a time of renewal..

L’shana tovah u’metukah

A good and sweet new year to all !
